By Sean Moriarty
Local Gardai are investigating two serious road traffic accidents that occurred in the Kilcummin area over the last week.
Four people were hospitalised and one remains in a critical condition in Cork University Hospital as a result of the two crashes.
The first occurred in the early hours of Thursday April 28 following a serious overnight crash.
Two occupants were seriously injured in a crash that occurred in the townland of Buddaghans near Coolick National School.
One of the occupants, a male in his 20s, was taken to University Hospital Kerry (UHK).
“The driver is still in UHK,” a Garda spokesperson told the Killarney Advertiser.
“That investigation is on-going.”
The second accident happened in the Coolcorcoran area at around 5pm on Saturday afternoon.
A local woman was hospitalised following the incident.
“Two people were seriously injured but it is non-life threatening,” added the Garda spokesperson. “That investigation continues too.”
