Healthy eating this Christmas for Heart patients and Diabetics

Heart patients and Diabetics who are concerned about what they can eat this festive season will not want to miss nutritionist Paula Duggan’s upcoming talk.
Organised by HeartBeat Killareny, the event will take place at the Parish Centre, Park Road, on November 28.
“Paula will be looking at the traditional Christmas food dishes and tweaking recipes to make them more heart-safe and healthy without reducing the flavours that we all know and love,” said HeartBeat chairman Billy O’Sullivan,
“She will also be introducing us to some of her own wonderful recipes and her ideas on festive shopping, things to avoid and to look out for. Christmas is a time when it is easy to get careless about our diet. The evidence of this is clear in the extra numbers that end up in hospital at this time. Heart Patients and Diabetics need to take extra care and Paula can advise us how to do this by tweaking recipes.”
