Headford rower on Irish European Championships team
Caoimhe O’Sullivan from Headford, Killarney, has been selected for the Irish Under 23 squad to compete at the European Rowing Championships this weekend in Racice, Czech Republic.
The Muckross Rowing Club and University of Limerick rower will be part of the Women's Eight crew, one of just two Irish crews competing.
O'Sullivan has previous international experience, having raced for Ireland at the Coupe de la Jeunesse in 2021 and the Home International Regatta in 2023. She has also won several Irish Championship titles with her university club.
The championships are taking place on Saturday, and Sunday.
The Irish Women's Eight will race in a field of five crews, competing against teams from the Czech Republic, Austria, Spain, and Romania.
The crew will have a preliminary race on Saturday at 10.35am Irish time to determine lane positions for the final, which is scheduled for Sunday at 11.14am Irish time
