Ballycasheen teenager Antoni Waberski has won Killarney Swimming Club’s art competition where club members were invited to design a new logo for their swimming hats. Antonio, who is in Sixth Class at St Oliver’s School, is a member of Killarney Swimming Club’s C-Squad.
With activities curtailed as result of COVID-19 restrictions the club wanted to do something to keep its members engaged in club life and came up with the ‘Design a Hat’ competition.
Antonio’s design will now feature on all club member’s training hats once activities resume.
“We are very proud,” his mother Aga told the Killarney Advertiser. “He has been very active, he is cycling and exercising every day and he practices his drum-kit a lot too. He has lots of stuff to do.”
Killarney Swimming Club’s Brian O’Connor said he was delighted with Antonio’s effort that he described as a “wonderful design”.
“Congratulations to Antonio, from our C Squad who has won our training hat competition with a wonderful design, full of movement and colour. This design will now go into production and our new training hat will be given to every club swimmer when we are all back training,” he told the Killarney Advertiser.
