Green army heading for the capital
B
Best of luck to the Killarney Celtic U-12 girls team who are heading to Dublin next weekend to take part in the National Cup finals. Although competition will be fierce, the talented young footballers have prepared well and will have their sights firmly set on winning some silverware at the prestigious tournament.
The girls have scored 123 goals this season (conceding just once in the process) so confidence is high and manager Alan O’Sullivan and coach Paul Vermiglio certainly have them well drilled.
Celtic’s girls have only reached this stage of the National Cup twice in 12 years, which goes to show what a great achievement it is to qualify.
The club have expressed their gratitude to John Bowler of Supermacs who has sponsored the team. Bringing a squad of girls to Dublin overnight is obviously quite costly so Celtic are seeking additional funding from the general public.
