Great success for local dancers at British National Championships

Local dancers have returned from the British National Championships, which were held in Bolton.
Eight dancers from the Aine Murphy School which is based in Gneeveguilla.
travelled to the event.
The school returned with three Champions, one second place, one third place, one fifth place.
The Champions included Alexandria Scally who was crowned the British National Champion Under 6. Alexandria is from Killarney
Marcus O’ Sullivan was crowned the British National Champion Under 9.
Marcus was also crowned the Irish National Champion in June and is also the reigning Munster and All-Scotland Champion. Marcus is from Firies
Caoimhe O’Halloran was crowned the British National Champion Under 15.
This is to add to the World Title Caoimhe won at Easter becoming the 1st female Irish dancer to bring a World Title to Kerry. She is also the reigning All-Ireland and Munster Champion. Caoimhe is from Kilcummin.
“To add to these fabulous wins the other dancers to bring silverware back to Kerry were, Brían Hurley who was second in the Under 9 Boys, Réidín Ni Laoithe from Kilbrean, Killarney who was third in the Under 6 competition and Isabelle O’Sullivan from Rathmore was fifth in the Under 8 age group,” Aine explained to the Killarney Advertiser.
“Saoirse Griffin and Katie Heneghan were also medal winners in their respective age groups.”
The dancers will now continue the hard work for the All-Scotland and Great Britain Championships in October and the Munster Championships in November.
