Gardai target young drug dealers in dawn raid
By Sean Moriarty
Seven properties in Killarney were raided by the Garda Drug Squad in the early hours of last Saturday morning.
Quantities of cocaine and cannabis were discovered in four of the properties during the operation. One person was arrested and charged following the raid.
The seven properties included some in the town centre and more on the outskirts of town.
A garda dog, trained in the detection of drugs, was used in the search operation.
The coordinated operation targeted the sale and supply of illegal drugs in Killarney.
“Gardai will continue to target young people involved in the sale of controlled drugs in the town,” a Killarney Garda spokesperson told the Killarney Advertiser.
“Saturday’s raid is a clear statement of this intent.”
