CONGRATULATIONS to talented Killarney snapper Seamus Long whose eye for a great picture has won him not one but two coveted prizes.
Seamus Long triumphed in the unrestricted category of Killarney Camera Club’s recent competition, an action-themed contest, for his image “Nine Horse Power”, shown above.
Billy Dermody’s image Owl in Flight won second prize while Paul Garnett’s photograph The Catch won third prize.
Another horse-inspired photograph, by Keith Johnson, won first prize in the novice category, with Finola O’Sullivan in second place and Noel O’Neill wining third prize.
Meanwhile, Seamus also won first prize in Killarney Camera Club’s first competition of 2017, which had architecture as its theme. “We had 26 entries with lots of different interpretations of the theme and well done to Seamus Long on winning the ‘unrestricted’ category with his lovely photo of The Egg in Beijing,” said club spokesman Billy Horan.
In second place was Paul Garnett’s image The Taj, with Sheila Foley in third place for her image Our Lady of the Rocks. Sheila also won the novice category of this contest, with Noel O’Neill’s image of St Mary’s Church in Dingle earning him second prize, while Thomas Bradley won third prize.
