GAA Legend supports St Francis fundraiser

Kerry GAA legend Mary Jo Curran, winner of 10 All-Ireland senior medals, will join the upcoming ‘Training with the Stars’ sports fundraiser in aid of St Francis Special School, Beaufort.
Curran, widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of Ladies Gaelic Football, will lend her expertise to coach young players during the event. She joins a strong lineup of Kerry GAA football and hurling figures coming together to support the school community.
The event takes place on October 3 at Kenmare Shamrocks GAA Club. It gives local children, including pupils from St Francis Special School, the opportunity to train alongside top inter-county talent, learn key skills, and meet their sporting heroes.
St Francis Special School provides education and care for children with moderate to severe learning disabilities and complex needs across County Kerry.
Organised by school parent Jean O’Sullivan, the fundraiser collects vital money for the school's Home Support Grant. The fund provides families with qualified support workers to assist in the home during the summer holidays, ensuring children maintain routine and families receive respite during the extended break from school. This year’s initiative will also support the BUMBLEance Children's Ambulance Service.
