Find your perfect E-Bike at O’Sullivan Cycles
E
E-Bikes have already captured the imagination of cyclists right across the globe and now, thanks to O’Sullivan Cycles on High Street, the people of Killarney can get in on the act.
David O’Sullivan says the electric bicycles, which have an integrated motor that can be used for propulsion, are becoming increasingly popular in Ireland with sales sky-rocketing.
“Over 100,000 E-Bikes were sold in Germany in 2016 and in the UK last year there were over 30,000 sold,” David said. “So they’re growing hugely. We’ve sold more this year already than we did in the previous two years combined.”
“Bosch, Yamaha and Shimano would be the main brands but you can get any type of bicycle: road bike, hybrid or mountain bike.
“You have to pedal and the assistance is 50/50. If you put in 50% effort you get 50% back. You charge it the same way you’d charge a mobile phone and depending on the model you can get 100km out of a single charge. They’re phenomenal.”
With different models varying in price from €1,300 to €8,000, there’s something for everyone at O’Sullivan Cycles, who boast Munster’s largest selection of E-Bikes.
