One local business is doing their bit for charity by fundraising tomorrow (Saturday). Boots in Deerpark, Killarney are planning to host a coffee morning from 9.45am-12pm in the Killarney Plaza Hotel for the Irish Cancer Society (ICS).
And main organiser Lauren O’Sullivan is inviting everyone to come along. “There will be tea, coffee, baked goods, sandwiches and some sweet treats available on the day!” she told the Killarney Advertiser this week.
“We will also have face painting to entertain the kids and a raffle for adults with some amazing prizes to be won.”
The fundraiser is a part of the larger Boots Ireland partnership with the Irish Cancer Society, which is now in its seventh year.
“This year the Killarney store hopes to raise €3,000 for this amazing charity, which helps so many families throughout Ireland,” Lauren said.
“Boots Killarney organise a number of fundraising events throughout the year for the Irish Cancer Society, including quiz nights, spinathons, bake sales and of course the Boots Night Walk for Night Nurses.”
Boots Ireland has raised over €1.3 million nationaly for the charity over the last number of years. The funds raised support the Night Nursing service, which provides care and support to cancer patients at home.
The partnership between Boots and the ICS has seen amazing success, as the retailer aims to increase awareness, promote prevention and support people living with cancer all over Ireland.
