Fassbender uninjured in serious Le Mans crashBy Sean Moriarty
Michael Fassbender emerged unscathed from a massive motor racing crash on Wednesday evening.
The Fossa man is at Le Mans in France where he is preparing for the legendary 24-hour motor race that gets underway on Saturday.
The event’s official qualifying session took place on Wednesday night but Fassbender was unable to complete the session after crashing his Porsche race car.
“[The] Hollywood star lost the rear of his No. 93 [Porsche] under breaking and hit the barrier. Driver is okay, car damaged on the front,” Tweeted Porsche Motorsport.
His team will have to work around the clock to get the car ready for Saturday’s race. As the Killarney Advertiser closed for press on Thursday evening it was unclear if they would be successful.
Fassbender said its was a dream come true to race at Le Mans.
