The event’s official qualifying session took place on Wednesday night but Fassbender was unable to complete the session after crashing his Porsche race car.

His team will have to work around the clock to get the car ready for Saturday’s race. As the Killarney Advertiser closed for press on Thursday evening it was unclear if they would be successful.
Fassbender said its was a dream come true to race at Le Mans.
