FALLEN trees have been causing obstructions on roads throughout the greater Killarney area.

Several trees have fallen across the main Killarney-Kenmare road in the Muckross area. “There are reports of debris and branches down on many roads,” Owen O'Shea of Kerry County Council confirmed. “The advice remains to stay off the roads and remain indoors until further notice.”

Billy Tangney, Tree Maintenance, told Killarney Advertiser he has had a very busy day, helping ensure the roadway is clear in the Muckross area.

Meanwhile, the Inches to Kilgarvan road had been blocked by fallen tree, while debris has filled the Killarney-Rathmore road.

The Killarney-Farranfore road is partially blocked at Kilcummin Cross/junction at Madam’s Hill and the Gullane-Gneeveguilla road blocked by tree
A tree is also down at Park Road, Killarney. The Healy Pass road is blocked by fallen tree and a tree is down at Gortalana, Kilgarvan. The N72 road near the Castlerosse Hotel is closed due to a fallen tree.
