Excitement building ahead of latest Chef Collab event
C
Chef Collab is a novel initiative aimed at highlighting and nurturing talented young chefs in Killarney and around Ireland. Kerry Chef of the Year Chad Byrne, who is the Group Development Chef at the Gleneagle Group and Head Chef at the Brehon, initially set up Chef Collab with four of his peers and the next event promises to be one of the best yet.
“It has been along season,” Chad says. “How about a free day out with bus and food sponsored by the soundest publicans, hoteliers and restaurateurs in Kerry?”
The event is kicking off at The Brehon at 1pm next Tuesday with Chef Network, an open forum for chefs to speak. That will be followed by a starter at The Brehon, main course at The Lake Hotel, dessert at Lord Kenmares and pints at Murphys Bar.
There are 35 spaces available and the event is open to all in the Killarney and Kerry area. The bus is kindly sponsored by the Gleneagle Hotel. All chefs are welcome, from executive chefs to KPs.
“What a great town to be in,” Chad, who was recently named Chef of the Year, says. “Let’s have a well deserved belter after a crazy season.”
