Engaged couples say ‘I do’ to wedding showcase
T
THE team at the Muckross Park Hotel rolled out the red carpet for 50 newly engaged couples on Saturday as the five-star venue hosted a wedding showcase evening.
The hotel’s wedding sales manager, Bernie O’Donoghue, welcomed the future brides and grooms as they got some insider tips on planning their special day from wedding experts.
The couples also tucked into culinary delights to inspire them to create the perfect wedding day menu.
Leading harpist Marina Cassidy, Killarney, provided entertainment while the drinks reception included mulled wine and cake pops among other treats, in the medieval-style atrium building.
The exhibitors included talented hairstylist Pat O’Neill, Theresa Foley from Heavenly Baked and the team from Diamond Bridal in Cork, which showcased all the latest wedding dress designs.
Later on, guests were treated to tasting platters of starters and main courses from the gourmet wedding menu. Guests were also treated to a dessert buffet showcasing a wide range of wedding desserts; this buffet also included a macaroon tower display.
Muckross Park Hotel has been hosting weddings here since the mid 1800s, noted deputy general manager Daniel O’Connor. “We are located in one of the most beautiful parts of the national park with Muckross Abbey and Muckross House and gardens just across the road and Torc waterfall just around the corner, all providing stunning backdrop for wedding photographs,” he said.
“Our kitchen team is led by executive chef, Kerry native John O’Leary. John joined Muckross Park Hotel in January 2015 having been executive chef at The Morrison Hotel in Dublin. Prior to this John was sous chef at The Merrion Hotel and at Pichet Restaurant. He also worked at The Four Seasons and Patrick Guilbaud's.”
