Elaine Canning hits the right note with Killarney School of Music

THE progressive Killarney School of Music is delighted to welcome Elaine Canning to its talented team. Elaine is a renowned soprano who studied under the guidance of Dr Veronica Dunne in Dublin. The acclaimed singer graduated with a BMus (Hons) Degree and Postgraduate Diploma in performance at the Royal College of Music, London.
Throughout her career Elaine has received numerous awards, most notably the Fitzwilton Trust Award for Exceptional talent, The Chilver Prize & Bolder Prize from the Royal College of Music, London.
Elaine is an accomplished performer and can adapt to various vocal styles ranging from classical to contemporary. She has travelled the globe as lead singer in Micheal Flatley’s “Lord of the Dance”, and with other groups and artists such as Ragus, Tommy Fleming, and The Drawing Room Opera Company.
She has had solo performances at The Purcell Room in London, The Royal Albert Hall London, Croke Park for All-Ireland (singing national anthem), The Ray D’Arcy Show to name but a few.
Elaine was choral director for Tralee Musical Society’s last two big productions: Their 30th year anniversary and Tralee Musical Society’s Aims Award Winning production of Jesus Christ Superstar in April. She currently performs with Killarney’s two premier dance productions Gaelic Roots & Celtic Steps.
