Dzana’s new book to inspire people ‘Out of the Dark’

By Michelle Crean
A local author, who herself battled with depression, is ready to share her story to inspire others battling depression.
Dzana Raszewska's book 'Out of the Dark' will be launched at the Great Southern Killarney from 6pm to 9pm tomorrow night (Saturday).
Dzana came to Killarney in 2015 as an Asylum Seeker and she is now a Yoga Teacher and Developmental Support Worker for KASI (Killarney Immigrant Support Centre).
The book addresses mental health struggles and describes a journey from the darkest of places into a place of love for herself and others.
In a most personal and poetic style, she describes her life as she left Bosnia for Ireland and the challenges she faced as she came to terms with her Borderline Personality Disorder and depression.
The book is divided into three distinct sections that describe the seeking of asylum, the internal battle with crippling depression, and the journey out of the dark, as friends helped her to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
She wanted to share her story to inspire others on their journey through the dark and would like the book to remind others that 'they are not alone' in their struggles.
A percentage of profits from the sale of the book will go to Pieta House in Tralee, to support the important work they do.
