Danú at The Brehon Serves Up Free Fish to Kids for September
C
Chef Chad Byrne and his team are celebrating the nationwide initiative Kids Seafood September by serving free fish dishes to kids under 12 years of age.
Throughout September, families are invited to dine in Danú at The Brehon where kids will get to chance to tickle their taste buds with a choice of fish dishes while parents do not have to shell out on the cost of their kids’ meals. For every adult main course ordered, children will have the choice of dishes including mini creamy chowder, mini fish sliders, deep fried scampi or mussels with organic pasta.
“When I cook mussels at home, my daughters’ friends think they’re gross. I hope that by having children taste the very best of fresh Irish seafood that I can get them to try something new and hopefully get them to think about seafood differently,” explains Chad Byrne, Head Chef at The Brehon.
Kids Seafood September is the brainchild of Gaz Smith of Michael’s Restaurant in Dublin, who has made it his personal mission to get Irish kids eating seafood. Kids Seafood September at Danú in The Brehon is kindly supported by Star Seafoods in Kenmare. It is available throughout September but pre-booking is essential. Call 064 307000 to book.
