Dan secures three silver medals at the Irish Culinary Championships
MEDALS: Dan Moynihan from Pinewood Estate has won three silver medals at the recent CATEX exhibition in the RDS Dublin.
A young Killarney chef won three medals at the Chef Ireland – The Irish Culinary Championships in the RDS recently.
Dan Moynihan, who works at The Brehon Hotel, won silver in three different categories in what industry experts describe as the biggest platform for young chefs in the country.
Dan from Pinewood Estate, presented a duck dish, a vegan dish and a mystery fish basket.
“There was lot of pressure,” he said. “I did not know the type of fish until the very last minute. I entered a few years ago and finished third so this was redemption- a clean sweep of sliver. It was a great experience and I gained so much knowledge.”
