Crokes lose home advantage to a toss of a coin
By Sean Moriarty
Dr Crokes fans will have to travel to Tralee on Sunday week for the Garvey’s Kerry Senior Football Championship semi-final after losing home advantage to a toss of a coin.
Both semi-finals will be played at Austin Stack Park in Tralee. It was previously decided that the Austin Stacks v St Brendan’s tie would be played at the Tralee venue.
Dr Crokes are due to face another Tralee side, Kerins O’Rahillys, in the other semi-final and County Board officials decided the fairest way to select a venue was at the toss of a coin.
It was announced yesterday evening (Thursday), just as the Killarney Advertiser was preparing to go to print, that the Tralee side had won the toss and the game is to be played in Tralee on November 20.
Throw in for the Kerins O’Rahillys and Dr Crokes semi-final is set for 2.30pm while the second match between Austin Stacks and St Brendan’s will start at 5.30pm. The second match will be broadcast live on RTE.
