Covered Bus Shelter Approved for Mission Road in Killarney

Killarney residents will soon have a more comfortable wait for the FlightLink Dublin Airport Coach thanks to the approval of a new covered bus shelter on Mission Road.
At a recent meeting of Killarney Municipal District, Cllr Marie Moloney raised concerns about the lack of shelter for passengers waiting for the service at the bus stop on Mission Road.
Moloney pointed out the inconvenience and discomfort caused by waiting in inclement weather and the potential for passengers to arrive at their destination drenched.
In response, a council official confirmed that the National Transport Authority (NTA) has approved the installation of a covered bus shelter at this location. An NTA contractor will be responsible for providing the shelter.
The council will be undertaking the necessary civil works to facilitate the installation, including the construction of the bus stop base, the installation of ducting and power supply. The council is currently awaiting confirmation from the NTA regarding the funding for these civil works.
Once this confirmation is received, the project to install the new covered bus shelter on Mission Road will proceed.
