Rebecca Murphy, a fourth year college student, is organising a coffee morning in aid of children in India.
Rebecca is planning to go to the Sundarbans in West Bengal as a teaching assistant to help young children who are at risk of child labour due to a lack of an education as part of the Suas Volunteer Programme.
The coffee morning will take place at Murphy’s Bar tomorrow (Saturday) from 10.30am. Raffles and spot prizes will be available.
“The Suas Volunteer Programme is completely voluntary in order to improve education and avoid child labour in countries such as Kenya, Zambia and India,” Rebecca told the Killarney Advertiser.
“Everyone is welcome to the coffee morning and all support is greatly appreciated.”
