Change of venue for Liam’s concert
By Sean Moriarty
Liam O’Connor’s Christmas concert has been moved to St Mary’s Cathedral.
The December 8 event was originally set for nearby St Brendan’s College but the venue is unavailable and the concert was transferred to the cathedral instead.
Liam recently recorded a new single with Clannad’s legendary vocalist Moya Brennan. Now the pair, and their extended families, will perform at St Mary’s as the first leg of a short pre-Christmas tour that also includes dates in Boherbue Church in Cork on December 9 and Watergate Theatre in Kilkenny on December 10.
The idea behind the mini tour was hatched during their recent appearance on RTE’s ‘The Late Late Show’.
“Big thanks to Bishop Ray and Fr Kieran who understood our predicament and facilitated the change,” Liam told the Killarney Advertiser.
