Celtic get ready for their biggest week ever
U
UNDER normal circumstances, Friday night’s league clash with Killarney Athletic would be one of the biggest games of the year for Celtic. As it turns out, it probably isn’t even their biggest game of the week.
The club's remarkable FAI Junior Cup odyssey continues next Saturday (March 11) with a home tie against highly-fancied Limerick side Janesboro, a game that is surely the most important in the club’s history.
Janesboro are second favourites to win the tournament outright so even with home advantage Celtic will need to be at their very best if they have any hope of advancing to the semi-finals.
To help prepare for this crucial fixture the club have arranged a high-profile friendly with a Cork City XI. The Leesiders will bring with them some first team regulars as well as fringe players and U-19s, so it’ll be good work out for Brian Spillane’s men.
The game takes place on Monday evening at 7pm in Celtic Park.
