Car park sought for Blue Pool walkway

A car park is badly needed at the entrance to the recently refurbished Bluepool public amenity in Mangerton.
That is according to Cllr Michael Gleeson who, last year, was part of Killarney National Park Mountain Meitheal volunteer group who refurbished the popular and scenic walking route.
Their work included the repair of a special rope along the edge of Bluepool that allows the visually impaired to safely navigate the route. They also tidied back the overgrown rhododendron on the trail.
Gleeson and local council engineers visited the site last week to discuss the provision of a car park near the entrance to the popular trail.
“The site has one deficiency – it has no parking,” Cllr Gleeson told the Killarney Advertiser. "The seed has been sown with the National Parks and Wildlife Services so hopefully they will keep this in mind.”
