Calls for parking cooperation during works
By Sean Moriarty
Cllr Brendan Cronin is calling on Kerry County Council and Irish Water to offer free parking at the Rock Road car park for the duration of works in the O’Kellys Villas estate.
Irish Water are due to commence essential water mains replacement in the next week or two – they have been working in surrounding streets since mid-July.
Residential parking is already difficult in O’Kellys Villas and surrounding the estate as a result of narrow streets. With the arrival of plant machinery in the area in the next few days parking will be even more difficult for residents.
Cllr Cronin has sought assurances from the local authority and the utility company that residents will be accommodated during the works.
“It would be a sign of goodwill towards the residents and it would also allow Irish Water the chance to get the work done unhindered,” Cllr Cronin told the Killarney Advertiser. “It is all about cooperation.”
