The Ballydribbeen Playground committee held a hugely successful bake sale in the Killarney Outlet Centre on Saturday.

The proceeds of the event will help provide a universal playground beside the new sports development in Derreen.

“The collective community spirit only bettered the impressive array of tasty treats. This spirit led to many goodies on sale and the many hands willing to help on the day,” said one of the organisers, Izabela Dian.

This was the latest fundraising event for the playground, and the next step will be announced in the coming weeks.

“The bake sale would not have been such a success without the support of many local people and businesses like Killarney Outlet Centre, Centra the Rock, Lidl, Tesco, Killarney Hotel and TreeHouse Foods. We want to express our gratitude to everybody who landed their hands to make this event possible,” added Izabela.

A Killarney resident is trying to find the owner of a designer ring that she found outside her house a few months ago.

Kristy Nicholas, pictured, found the ring on s footpath in the Lackabane Estate in Fossa on December 29 last.

Since then she has exhausted all channels in an effort to find the owner including regular contact with the Gardai and local word of mouth.

“Since that time I worked to find the owner through word of mouth and by filing a report with Gardai. Since I’ve been unsuccessful,” she told the Killarney Advertiser.

“The owner could ring the Killarney Gardai station and provide details to be connected with me. To be reunited a description will be needed, such as the brand and designer and type of ring It’s quite an expensive ring so I’m really hoping to get it back to the right place.”

Kristy can be contacted on 087 3443500
