Brendan’s legacy helps Kerry Hospice build on its strengths
T
THE family and friends of Brendan Heffernan continued their support for Kerry Hospice Foundation in his memory, presenting a very generous €1,880 during the week.
The amount was raised through a street collection in Killarney in August and it will contribute towards the 15-bedroom inpatient unit currently under construction at University Hospital Kerry.
This vital facility has been sensitivity designed to provide appropriate care and support for terminally ill patients, their families and friends.
In addition, seven Killarney beauticians supported the Beauty and 'The Beast' campaign initiated by Caitriona Heffernan following her own experience of cancer. “The beauty therapists provided complimentary vouchers to patients going through cancer treatment,” said Caitriona.
“Recipients expressed their gratitude for the treatments to help them cope with the visible and emotional effects of treatment.”
