Boys in green power to glory
T
THEIR fancy footwork ensured the young sports stars at Presentation Monastery National School, Killarney, won the FAI five-a-side soccer county final.
The talented team produced some impressive performances to overcome stiff competition from the other schools in their group such as Tralee CBS, St Oliver’s and St John’s, Kenmare. They progressed as the Kerry representatives in the Munster competition this week where they travelled to Waterford to take on the other county champions.
“The standard was significantly higher this time out and the boys did really well to progress to the semi-finals where they lost out to a strong Tipperary side,” said school principal Colm O Súilleabháin.
