Arresting performances expected at Garda schools blitz

THE excitement is reaching fever pitch at Fitzgerald Stadium this morning as pupils from primary schools across the greater Killarney area and beyond line out for the annual Killarney Garda National School Seven-A-Side football Blitz.
The schools battling it out for top honours are Presentation Monastery, Scoil Bhride Loreto, Lissivigeen, Annablatha, Loughquittane, Glenbeigh, Rathmore, Fossa, St Oliver’s, Barraduff, Duagh Tiernaboul, Boherbue, Kenmare, Kilcummin and Cullina.
Organiser Garda Edmund Walsh said: “I would like to once again thank our kind sponsors, Tom Spillane, auctioneer, Killarney, Timmy O’Sullivan, Easi Clean, Glenflesk, Tom Tobin, Killarney Trophies, Daly’s SuperValu, Killarney, McCarthy’s Londis, Rathmore, and Kerry County GAA Board.
“I would also like to thank the staff of Fitzgerald Stadium and all the Kerry Gardaí who make this event possible on the day as well as the pupils, teachers and parents.”
