Brehon Hotel wins national employer award

The Brehon Hotel, Killarney has been named as one of the country’s best employers by the Irish Hotels Federation.

The federation’s Quality Employers Awards 2019, which acknowledges excellence in human resource management across Ireland’s hotel and guesthouse sector, were announced at the IHF’s 81st Annual Conference which took place in Killarney this week.

Seven awards were presented to winners according to the size of the premises with the Brehon  named as one of two intermediate award winners along with The Merrion Hotel, Dublin.

The awards were presented by local TD Brendan Griffin, who is the Minister of State for Tourism and Sport.

“The Irish tourism sector is acclaimed across the globe for its outstanding welcome and customer service levels,” Michael Lennon, IHF President said.

“Our employees are our best ambassadors, ensuring that guests have a truly memorable visit that they will share with their family and friends.”

The event, organised in association with Killeentierna Parish Church, takes place this Saturday, May 2, and will run throughout the day. Members of the community are encouraged to attend to tidy family graves and adjacent pathways in preparation for the cemetery mass on Wednesday, May 13, at 7.30 pm.
