€20K funding for Muckross Community Association

Muckross Community Association got an early Christmas present after being included in the latest round of funding from the Community Centre Investment Fund.
Community centres in Kerry will receive essential funding of €1,531,268 to carry out upgrades and repairs, Deputy Government Chief Whip, Brendan Griffin TD has said.
Muckross Community Association has been allocated €19,667.25 in the funding scheme, Griffin confirmed.
Deputy Griffin was speaking after Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys, confirmed funding of €33 million which will be spread across 278 community centres.
“This incredible announcement is the largest single investment in our community centres in decades. Community centres are valued shared spaces and are very much at the heart of Kerry towns and villages. I hope this funding assists in making them even better in the provision of services to people all across Kerry,” Deputy Griffin said.
“I also want to congratulate the successful projects and to thank them for the vital work they do in providing services in their local communities. This funding will deliver high quality capital projects for community facilities that bring benefit to the local community.”
