A brand-new fashion extravaganza has been added to this year’s Glenflesk festival celebrations, promising an evening of style, music, and culinary entertainment.

The Summer Soirée in the Marquee will take place on Friday, June 19, at the Barraduff Community Field.

The event kicks off at 6pm with a prosecco reception and light bites on arrival, with the main programme scheduled to begin at 7pm.

Well-known broadcaster Brendan Fuller will host the evening, guiding guests through a varied line-up of live acts and demonstrations.

Food enthusiasts can look forward to a live culinary experience by Head Chef Chad Byrne, who will showcase creative dishes using fresh local ingredients while sharing practical cooking tips for the home.

Fashion and beauty will take centre stage later in the evening.

Experts Mary O’Donnell and Kerry O’Connor will host dedicated style segments, providing summer inspiration and showcasing on-trend looks from leading regional retailers, including Killarney’s Scarlett Boutique and Kenmare Cashmere.

Live music throughout the night will be provided by local performer Jack Patrick Healy, delivering his signature mix of high-energy piano and vocals to the marquee crowd.

In addition to the main stage entertainment, the event features handcrafted cocktails mixed by a professional mixologist, a fully licensed bar, and multiple spot prize giveaways. A dedicated prize for the Most Stylish Lady on the night includes a one-night stay at The Europe Hotel and Resort.

Demolition works have commenced at The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens, marking the beginning of a major €100 million investment to transform the property into a new luxury five-star estate.7

The project represents one of the most significant hospitality investments in Ireland in recent years.

The redevelopment is expected to position the property among the country’s leading luxury resort destinations when it reopens in 2028.

Originally opened in 1963 by Hans Liebherr, the redeveloped resort will be positioned as a luxury estate experience set across a 64-acre landscape, focusing on nature, outdoor pursuits, wellness, and multi-generational travel.

The scale of the investment reflects the Liebherr family’s long-standing commitment to its Killarney Hotels Collection and the local tourism industry.

The Dunloe forms part of the Killarney Hotels Collection alongside its flagship lakeside property, The Europe Hotel & Resort, and Ard na Sidhe Country House near Killorglin.

Scheduled for completion in the second half of 2028, the updated resort will feature 97 guestrooms and suites, a new spa and wellness offering, enhanced dining concepts including a new Italian-themed restaurant, and state-of-the-art conference and events facilities.

The project is being delivered in partnership with Kenmare-based KPH as the main contractor, Kerry and Dublin-based Gottstein Architects, led by Achim Gottstein, and Swiss hospitality specialists Monoplan.

The connection between the project teams spans generations; Achim Gottstein’s father, Freddie Gottstein, worked alongside Hans Liebherr on the original construction of The Europe Hotel back in 1961.
