Locals and tourists urged to be vigilant following break-ins
Gardaí have issued an appeal for vigilance to both locals and tourists following a series of vehicle break-ins and a residential burglary in the Ross Road area this week.
The recent spell of warm weather has drawn large crowds to Killarney National Park. On Tuesday night, as people flocked to Ross Castle to enjoy the evening heatwave, several motorists returned to find their vehicles had been broken into.
In an official statement, a Garda spokesperson confirmed the incidents: "Gardaí are investigating a number of thefts from vehicles that occurred in Killarney on Wednesday, May 27. The investigation is ongoing."
In a separate incident, authorities are also dealing with a break-in at a local property. Gardaí confirmed they are investigating a burglary at a residential home that occurred in Killarney on the morning of Wednesday, May 27.
With investigations ongoing into both the vehicle thefts and the household burglary, anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the vicinity of Ross Castle or the wider Killarney area over Tuesday night and Wednesday morning is urged to contact Killarney Garda Station.
