Heartbeat Killarney doubles monthly talks for August
Heartbeat Killarney will host its monthly talk over two nights this month for the first time.
The meeting takes place on Tuesday August 26 at 8pm in the Parish Centre, Park Road.
Guest speaker Maeve Ryan from Kerry Recreation and Sports Partnership will speak about Activator Poles and their proper use.
A tutor will also be on hand to demonstrate the technique while a member of the Killarney Library team will outline details of their loan-pole scheme. Information will also be available on purchasing poles.
The week continues on Thursday August 28 with a full demonstration during the Heartbeat Strutters Walk in Killarney National Park.
Walkers will meet at 11am at the entrance opposite the Cathedral. If there is enough interest, a four-week Activator Pole Walking Programme will follow.
Organisers expect strong involvement from the Strutters walking group in both promoting and attending the two events.
