Camera Club names Photographer of the Year
The Killarney Camera Club has wrapped up another season of photography with the announcement of its Photographer of the Year.
Throughout the year, members of all experience levels took part in seven themed challenges. Each round gave participants a chance to explore different techniques, lighting styles and composition. Themes included ‘Curves’, ’Black and White Street Photography’, and ’Nature’, among others.
This year’s top award went to Ade Desbrow, whose consistent and creative entries throughout the competition earned him the highest score and the club’s most prestigious title.
Elizabeth Browne, in her first year with the club, finished second overall and won the Novice category. She will now advance to the Unrestricted section next season.
Terry McSweeney, a former overall winner, took third place this year, continuing to produce work that fellow members describe as inspiring.
The competition is designed to encourage learning, experimentation, and steady improvement. It’s also a way for members to stay active behind the lens year-round while sharing feedback and ideas.
