Bob Dylan to play phone-free concerts at INEC
Bob Dylan will perform two nights at the Gleneagle INEC Arena in Killarney on November 23 and 24, as part of his upcoming tour.
The concerts will be completely phone-free.
Attendees will be required to place their mobile phones and any recording devices into secure Yondr pouches, which they will keep with them throughout the performance. The pouches can only be unlocked in designated areas of the venue.
This measure is being implemented to ensure a distraction-free environment. According to organisers, “Our eyes open a little more and our senses are slightly sharper when we lose the technological crutch we’ve grown accustomed to.”
Medical exemptions will be permitted for those who rely on their phones for treatment.
Dylan last released new music in 2020 with the album Rough and Rowdy Ways which received widespread critical acclaim. His current tour includes stops across the US, UK, and Ireland with shows also scheduled for Belfast and Dublin.
Killarney will be one of only three Irish stops on the tour.
Tickets for both shows go on sale at 10am this Friday, July 18, via ticketmaster.ie.
