Heights Hotel supports Whitebridge Manor Defibrillator project

Published

on

The Heights Hotel has become a key sponsor of the Whitebridge Manor Defibrillator project.

The project was launched after a medical emergency in the area earlier this year.
Following Seán Óg O’Sullivan's sudden cardiac arrest at home, residents in Whitebridge Manor began fundraising for a publicly accessible defibrillator.
The Heights Hotel covered the entire cost of the defibrillator and its outdoor heated box, which is now installed in the centre of the estate.
The project, spearheaded by Seán Óg’s brother Gary, also raised over €4,600 through a GoFundMe campaign.
These additional funds will be divided equally among three organisations: Killarney Cardiac First Response Unit, The Michael Lenihan Heartsafe Campaign, and Brú Columbanus at Cork University Hospital.
Collette Andre O’Riordan, Managing Director of The Heights Hotel recently visited the new installation with Whitebridge residents. She stated the hotel’s commitment to the project extends to sponsoring community CPR and First Aid training by providing venue space and necessary equipment. The hotel also plans to host an awareness coffee morning soon to further support cardiac response and community preparedness.
“We are delighted to have been able to support such an important community led project,” said Collette. “The swift response from local residents shows the power of community spirit. We hope this inspires others across Killarney, Kerry, and beyond to prepare and train, because it truly can save lives.”
The Heights Hotel intends to continue supporting local initiatives and will host community cardiac training and awareness events in the coming months.
