TY students brings smiles to nursing home

There were smiles all around on Tuesday as Transition Year (TY) students from Killarney Community College spent a day at Killarney Nursing Home.
The students sang songs, played games, made art, and most importantly, spent time chatting and connecting with the residents. It was a day full of laughter, stories, and special moments that meant just as much to the students as it did to those living in the home.
The visit wasn’t just about fun - it was a chance for the TY group to learn from the older generation and to hear first-hand about their lives and experiences. Many students said they were touched by the warm welcome they received and by the kind words and wisdom shared with them throughout the day.
Teachers at the school praised the students for their kindness and respect during the visit, and they thanked the staff and residents of Killarney Nursing Home for making them feel so welcome.
