Local Vodafone store owner, Jessica O’Connor, stressed the importance of digital literacy for older adults, particularly during the busy Christmas season.
O’Connor explained that many older customers, especially during the Christmas period, are transitioning from basic phones to smartphones. This can be overwhelming, leading to frustration and a sense of isolation.
To address this, Vodafone’s specially trained staff offers personalized support and step-by-step guidance to help older customers navigate the digital world.
By offering assistance with everything from setting up a new device to understanding online security, the store aims will help older adults stay connected with their loved ones.
"Digital exclusion creates barriers to social interaction, access to services and even mental well-being. Through our Hi Digital programme, we see firsthand the power of human of connections for this generation and the positive benefits of staying connected. Hi Digital helps to bridge the digital gap, fostering community connections and enabling older adults to live fuller, more independent lives,” said O’Connor.
