Killarney Historic Rally 2024 launch on Saturday
The Killarney and District Motor Club will launch the 2024 Killarney Towers Hotel Killarney Historic Rally this Saturday at 4pm at the Killarney Plaza Hotel and Spa
.
All club members, family, friends, and motorsport enthusiasts are welcome to attend.
Gemma Ring, Managing Director of the O’Donoghue Ring Collection and Killarney Towers Hotel & Leisure Centre, expressed the company’s continued support for the event:

As Ireland’s premier historic rally with an esteemed international reputation, this rally attracts a remarkable lineup of skilled competitors each year,” she said. “We look forward to supporting the highly anticipated event once more while celebrating the incredible energy and excitement it brings to Killarney and the surrounding region."
The 2024 rally is already shaping up to be a thrilling event. Over 70 genuine historic cars have already entered and the organising team will announce some of the big-name entries at the launch.
Clerk of the Course Anthony O’Connor added: "We're delighted to be launching the 2024 Killarney Historic Rally. This year's event promises to be even bigger and better, with a fantastic route that includes classic stages like Moll's Gap, Ballaghbeama, and Carragh Lake. We're also excited to bring back the popular night stage, which adds an extra dimension to the rally."
TV presenter Frankie Foster named honorary Kerryman
Racing TV’s Frankie Foster made his debut at Killarney Racecourse during the July Festival, broadcasting the event to hundreds of thousands of online viewers.
Operating across Thursday and Friday with his signature orange microphone, the London-based presenter interviewed racegoers and highlighted the course’s scenic backdrop across social media platforms.
In recognition of his promotion of the festival, Killarney Racecourse official Brendan Fuller presented Foster with an official Kerry GAA jersey signed by goalkeeper Shane Murphy, declaring him an honorary Kerryman.
Winners announced for Best Dressed at Races
Niamh Lordan and Tariq Anwar took top honours at Friday’s Lee Strand Best Dressed competition at Killarney Racecourse.
Judges TJ Reid, Kilkenny hurling player, and influencer Niamh de Brún-Reid selected ten male and ten female finalists after reviewing contenders throughout the enclosures.
Listowel native Niamh Lordan, now living in Cork, won Best Dressed Lady. She wore a rented Leo Lin dress from Labelle paired with a self-designed glass hat, securing a VIP trip for two to Paris and a crystal vase.
Dublin resident Tariq Anwar was named Best Dressed Gent, wearing a white Louis Copeland suit, a Texas off-white hat, and handmade Italian shoes to win a VIP trip for two to Milan.
