New figures released this week have underscored the critical need for the construction of a bypass in Killarney.

Data on average daily traffic flow on the current bypass reveals that it carries significantly more vehicles than even the busy M7 motorway near Moneygall.
According to the data, released by Kerry Sinn Fein TD, Pa Daly the Killarney bypass handles an average of 19,400 vehicles per day.
This figure surpasses the traffic volume on the M7, which sees approximately 13,300 vehicles daily.
The data further highlights that the Killarney bypass experiences even heavier traffic during the summer months, when the town attracts a larger influx of tourists and residents.
