Children make donation to burgled church
Children from second class from Scoil Bhríde, Loreto, Muckross are beinbg hailed heroes after donating money raised during their First Confession to a local church that was recently burgled.
Gardaí continue to investigate a break-into to the Church of the Holy Spirit in Muckross late last month.
A sum of money was taken from the donations box in the church after thieves forced open the box to access the contents with a consaw.
The incident occurred between 2.45pm on Friday January 19 and 4pm on Saturday, January 20 at the church in Muckross which is also known as Gortahoonig church.
Scoil Bhríde pupilsmade their First Penance this week.
“The children decided to make a donation to Fr. Kieran O'Brien for the upkeep of Muckross Church after they heard about the recent burglary in the church,” said teacher Padraig O'Sullivan.
