CCTV security project gets go ahead
The Killarney CCTV project is to go out to public consultation in the coming weeks.
The move was confirmed at last week’s Killarney Municipal District meeting.
Over ten years in the pipeline the project could, at last, come to fruition despite the lack of detailed drawings and plans.
The meeting heard that the Gardai completed a detailed data protection report.
It is understood that over 60 cameras will be installed in the town. The majority will be in town centre and outlying areas but some will be placed in the Balyspillane Estate, which in the past was the scene of several anti-social behaviour issues.
