Killarney Local Tara O'Shea is the proud owner of a new, nurse-led, skin clinic opening in Killarney.

She is a Clinical Nurse Manager in Dermatology with a two-year Masters in Nurse Education from the University of Galway and over five years' experience as a Dermatology nurse. Having worked at the world-renowned St John's Institute of Dermatology in London first, she continued to expand on her cosmetic dermatology knowledge and education at Harley Street Institute.

As Tara said: “The skin is the largest organ of the body so why wouldn’t we look after it?”

As she launches her new business this week her goal is to empower people to make informed decisions about their daily skincare and target treatments.
“A professional skin consultation can help with short-term dermatological issues and concerns, as well as invest in the long-term optimization of your skin's health,” she added.

Tara understands that when people think skincare, they think cost. She aims to provide advice regarding skin products that are most suitable and within the clients price range. Some of the target treatments available at the clinic include:

Microneedling: A natural way of boosting collagen and elastin.
Nanoneedling: Allows for serums to penetrate deeper into the skin for a glowing appearance.
Chemical peels: Creates chemical trauma to the skin with specific target treatments.
Platelet Rich Plasma Facial (PRP): Stimulates collagen and connective tissue regeneration.

PRP for Hair growth: Injected at a deeper level to assist in hair growth for people with male pattern baldness, female pattern hair loss, or alopecia areata.
The skin concerns Tara aims to improve include acne, acne scarring, rosacea, pigmentation/sun damage, sensitivity/uneven skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles, male pattern baldness or female pattern hair loss, and overall glow up for an occasion or event.
Tara can be contacted on 087 6647097 or you can follow her on Instagram @dermnursetara.
