Science week at St Brigid’s
Students enjoying Science Week activities in St Brigid's this week
This week sees the annual Science Week festivities kicking off around the country, and it has been no different in St. Brigid's.
Classes took to the beautiful National Park (which we are so lucky to have on our doorstep) to compete in a Science Scavenger Hunt. This involves various activities such as finding the pH, flow rate and hardness of the River Deenagh's water as well as identifying a variety of our local flora and fauna. Meanwhile indoors the 'Spaghetti- Marshmallow' challenge was underway, where students competed to build the tallest tower to support a marshmallow using minimal resources. Quizzes and competitions have continued throughout the week, as the school aims to encourage the budding scientists of the future.
