Killarney Racecourse is set to host JulyFest, an exciting five-day summer horse-racing festival from July 17 to 21.

JulyFest at Killarney Races offers great racing, socialising, entertainment and so much more at Ireland’s most scenic racecourse.
For many patrons, the most competitive event of the week will take place off the track on Friday in the form of The Lee Strand Best Dressed fashion event! No less than 10 lucky ladies and 10 gents will be selected by the judges, each taking home a prize for their efforts in the fashion stakes.

Ladies and gents will battle it out in style for the chance to be crowned best dressed and take home the covetable prizes of a trip for two to Paris and Milan.

This year’s celebrity judges are Kerry’s own and Digital Content Creator Tadhg Fleming and 2021 Miss Ireland Pamela Uba.

The Lee Stand Judges will be out and about on track from early doors to find this year’s Lee Strand Best Dressed winners.

Fleming said:“I’m absolutely delighted and excited to be part of this year’s Lee Strand Best Dressed at the Killarney Races! Being a local Kerry man, I am honoured to be this year’s judge with my fellow Ultimate Hell Week recruit Pamela. We will be keeping an eye out for the most stylish & head turning outfits on the day… and may I add I am a fan of outrageous and funky designs.”

Uba added: "I am super excited to be judging at the Killarney races this year. It’s such a day of fashion and style and having won best dressed lady at the Galway races previously myself I totally understand the effort that goes into it. I would be looking out for something fun and chic, that’s shows your personality and is unique. I can’t wait to see all the glam."

Kerry Friends of Motor Neurone (KFMN) was one of seven local charities to receive funding from Ballybunion Golf Club Lady Captain Mags O’Sullivan’s Charity Golf Classic.

At a presentation on October 5, Mags O’Sullivan presented a cheque for €5,000 to KFMN at Ballybunion Golf Club.
The donation was made in memory of her late friend Angela Fahy, a former Lady Captain and President of the club, who passed away from Motor Neurone Disease.
Pat Kelleher and Christy Lehane accepted the cheque on behalf of KFMN and thanked Mags, Lady President Aideen O’Leary, and the organising committee for their generosity and hospitality.
He said the donation will provide vital support for the charity’s ongoing work assisting those living with Motor Neurone Disease in Kerry.
“Fundraising is becoming increasingly difficult, so this contribution makes a real difference,” he said.
