Ring of Kerry cycle road closures
Road closures will be in effect to facilitate the 41st running of the Ring of Kerry Cycle.
The Lower New Street Car Park will be closed until midnight on Saturday.
There will be no access to Mission Road from 5.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. Saturday to facilitate the event start.
The first finishers are expected around 11.30 a.m. so Mission Road will be closed again from that time until 8.00 p.m..
Beech Road will be closed from 5.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. and 12.00 noon. to 8.00 p.m.
The Fossa to Killorglin Road (N72) will be close from 6.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. starting from the junction of the N72 and the R563, Milltown Road at Fossa via Ballymalis and Anglont and finishing at the junction of the N72 and N70 at Laune Bridge, Killorglin.
Traffic diversions will be in place via the R563 through Faha and Listry and the N70 from Milltown to Killorglin.
Further closures along the westbound lane of Ring of Kerry route from Killorglin to Sneem will also be in place from Derreendarragh Cross near Kenmare to Torc will be closed from 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
“Motorists travelling between Killarney and Kenmare at the above times are advised to use the alternative N22 / R569 route via Glenflesk and Kilgarvan,” said a Kerry County Council statement.
