Mick Griffin Memorial fishing competition on Sunday

The late Mick Griffin will be remembered at Killarney Salmon and Trout Angling Club on Sunday.
Members will compete for the first presentation of the Mick Griffin Memorial Cup on Lough Lein on Sunday.
Mick was a well-known angler on the lakes, both for his prowess in salmon and trout fishing and his family have had a long standing association with angling in Killarney .
Mick and his son Anthony are the only father and son to have won the Royal Oak Cup , the club’s annual highlight competition on the local lakes.
The cup was presented by Anthony Griffin and his wife Kay to Club Chairman DJ O Riordan.
“In presenting this cup , the family were keen to recognise the long-standing connection between the family and the club and now we are delighted to have an annual competition in Mick's memory,” said DJ.
