Michael Healy-Rae to make rally debut

Local politician Michael Healy-Rae is to make his motorsport debut this weekend.
His debut started out as a joke earlier this year but now that joke is set to become a reality.
In January, deputy Healy-Rae attended the official launch of the Killarney Forestry Rally in Castleisland.
Healy-Rae is a close friend and neighbour of current Killarney and District Motor Club chairman Thomas Randles.
He revealed at that launch that Mr Randles has spent years trying to convince him to take up rally co-driving.
However it seems that Randles has finally convinced his friend and neighbour.
On Sunday, the Greenmount Motorsport Bonanza and Family Fun Day comes to the Limerick Racecourse in Patrickswell and Healy-Rae will co-drive for Randles in his famous Ford Escort Mk2 in the rallysprint element of the event.
